I’m writing to ask that you speak out against the current plan by the owners of BI-LO to fix their financial problems by closing stores in the Greenville area. The employees of BI-LO have worked hard to create a trust with the community and with our customers that should not be broken. Allowing Lone Star Funds, a hedge fund that puts profits over our community, to stay in charge of BI-LO is an absolute disaster waiting to happen. They have already put the compnay into bankruptcy once- why would anyone think this same team can fix the problems they created.
We ask you as our elected representatives to help us preserve jobs and donations to local charities to asking the bankruptcy court to find a new owner for BI-LO that keeps the stores open and keeps the jobs here in Greenville.
